Over-the-Air Update
Currently known issues surrounding OTA updates on smart glasses clients.
Glass EE2
Vuzix M400
RealWear HMT-1
An issue with the OTA update process has been recently discovered with that causes the application to crash the first time an OTA update is performed. The root cause for this issue lies within Skylight use of the Microsoft App Center SDK, which powers the Skylight OTA update process.
The following is a description of steps for performing an OTA update that take this issue into account
If during this process an unnavigable prompt appears that says that Skylight requires permissions to install applications from unknown sources, follow the steps in Device Provisioning > Glass EE2 > Giving Skylight permission to install over-the-air updates to enable this permission.
    1.
Launching Skylight will prompt for permissions if it hasn't been granted permissions previously. Select "Allow" for each if this prompt appears.
    2.
Skylight will prompt that there is an update available. Highlight the "Install Now" option and wait a few seconds to ensure it remains highlighted. If "Remind me tomorrow" is selected or this dialog is dismissed with a swipe down, the application will not prompt that there is an update until it is reinstalled or until 24 hours have passed.
    3.
Select "Install Now". At this point, there are several possibilities for what may occur.
Possibility 1: It may appear as though "Remind me tomorrow" is highlighted for a moment and then an alert that Skylight has stopped will appear. This possibility is likely to occur if Skylight is not given permissions to install applications from unknown sources. Relaunch Skylight to proceed.
Possibility 2: The prompt will remain and it will automatically highlight "Remind me tomorrow". Swipe down to exit out of the prompt and then relaunch Skylight to proceed.
Possibility 3: The Skylight applications list or the QR code screen (depending on whether you are logged in or not, respectively) reappears. Swipe down to exit Skylight and then relaunch Skylight to proceed.
    4.
If Skylight shows no prompt after being relaunched, exit Skylight and relaunch Skylight. Then repeat steps 2 and 3 until the system-level OTA installation prompt appears, which will occur once the installation file is downloaded. Swipe to and select "Install".
    5.
The installation will now proceed successfully.
    6.
Ensure that the version shown in the lower right corner of the QR code pairing screen or in the Skylight settings menu matches the expected Skylight version.

There is a known issue with the HMT-1 that prevents the use of voice commands to select the "Install Now" option when an OTA update is available. In this case, the action button can be pressed instead at any time when the "Skylight update available" screen is visible to continue with the OTA process.
Even if "Remind me tomorrow" is highlighted, pressing he action button will cause the OTA to occur.
Once the action button is pressed, there are several possibilities for what may occur.
