User guide for the Skylight mobile iOS client.

Android is not yet supported, but planned for early 2021.

Installing Skylight

To install Skylight for iOS:

  1. Open the App Store on your iOS device.

  2. Search for Upskill Skylight (Next-Gen) and install the application.

Signing In

To sign into Skylight on your iOS mobile device:

  1. Open the Skylight app on your device.

  2. Select the appropriate server, and select Sign in.

    • Choose Skylight Cloud (US) if Skylight is hosted by Upskill in data centers located in the US.

    • Choose Skylight Cloud (EU) if Skylight is hosted by Upskill in data centers located in the EU.

    • Choose Other server if Skylight is hosted by your organization either on-premise or in a virtual private cloud (VPC). Enter the web address provided by your administrator to continue the sign in process.

  3. Enter the domain provided by your administrator, then select Continue.

  4. If your administrator has configured Security Assertion Markup Language (SAML), select Sign in with SAML. Otherwise, enter your username and password and select Sign in.

Signing Out

To sign out of Skylight on your mobile device:

  1. Open the navigation menu.

  2. At the bottom of the menu, select Sign out.

Navigating Within Skylight

When first opening Skylight, you will see a list of all available applications.

  • Tap on an application to open it.

  • Scroll up and down to navigate within an application.

  • Certain cards can be tapped on in order to perform tasks, such as making a call or entering text.

Using Skylight Live Video Calling

Calling Basics

With Skylight calling, you can make a voice or video call and connect with up to four users at a time. To use Skylight Live video calling:

  1. To make a call, open an application that has calling capabilities. Within the application, select a card that creates a call room.

  2. You will be navigated into a call room. In-call actions will appear at the base and top of the screen.

  3. Once other users join the call, you'll see the active speaker in the main view.

  4. There are various actions you can perform while in-call:



Mute or unmute your microphone

Enable or disable your video

Minimize call

Take a snapshot of the main view

View snapshots (overflow menu)

Share screen (overflow menu)

Leave the call

Taking Snapshots

To take snapshots while in-call:

  1. Select the Take snapshot icon in the button bar.

  2. If taking a snapshot of another user's feed, you'll be alerted that a snapshot has been requested.

  3. Once the snapshot is ready, all users will be notified. You can select to open it full-screen.
